Holt Renfrew

We built this luxury e-commerce site to feel highly editorial. We were building an online brand from the ground up: what was essentially a high-end department store entering the digital realm needed to be bold, consistent, and above all appeal to the customer base that had been so loyal to the physical stores.

Cartridge approach

We were under enormous time constraints to get the whole UX built out. We relied some on Sapient’s turn-key e-commerce pages for checkout, but every other flow was done from scratch to meet Holt Renfrew’s particular needs. Additionally, our tech budget was pretty slim, so we adopted a cartridge approach. We eventually settled on six individual cartridges that could be configured in a variety of ways in order to create a beautiful e-commerce site that looked like a magazine spread on every page.
